I have to say the cheap Johnson and Johnson detangler for babies works great for matts. I spray on after a bath and even if there is a knot on a dry coat - it works great and is cheap. As far as the dry skin I am sorry I do not know... maybe someone else can offer you some advice. Good luck and welcome to YT!
