Just my opinion, but I think it all comes down to your reasons for breeding. Is this a one time thing and are you breeding to keep the puppies or giving them to family members and friends, or are you starting your own breeding program? If you are starting your own program maybe starting with a 10 pound female isn't the best, even though personally I love teapots! I'm not a breeder but if the puppies are going to be strictly for pets, then what difference does it make?
