It's interesting that you post this because just this week, my Rowdy (13 weeks) has started NOT coming when I call him. He waits, oh about 20 seconds, then casually saunters over to me, if he comes at all. He is not cowering or backing up when I pick him up, but he has definitely decided that he does NOT need to come when called. We are getting ready to go on a 2 week vacation and he will be staying with my daughter - so I'm sure he will be absolutely spoiled rotten when we get back. That said, we are going to work on this defiant behavior at that time. It may just be the autonomy phase - I don't know????? |
