Mayzie sleeps with us in the middle of the foot of the bed. She has her own fleece blanket that she makes a "nest" in everynight and we call that "her place" She generally stays there and sleeps all night. She always has been a good sleeper. Some nights she will creep up and when she does we just tell her to go to her place and she will--most of the time. If not, we pick her up and say "this is your place" and she stays there. It has worked out very well for us.
