Yes weight gain like that also can be indicative of underactive thyroid. those symptoms all sound very typical of thyroid problems.
This is not hard to treat, tablets for thyroid are not expensive as some medications are.
I knew of a Yorkie years ago that got underactive thyroid in her later years. She lived to be 15 years, just got her pill every morning and did well.
