I hear that boys still hump after they are neutered, is that true?
If you get them neutered early enough it may never be a problem. Plus, a lot of females hump too.
Are they harder to potty train?
I've had two male yorkies. My first was
completely housebroken the first two months I had him (four months old). Gus is eight months and we are still working on it. I would say he is ninety five percent housebroken.
Female or male, I think it depends on the dog.
Do they mark their territory outside or inside? And can it be a problem?
Gus has only marked his territory a few times outside on walks. Never in the house.
I wonder how much of a problem this is for people too. I've had six male dogs and none of them marked inside. I can't believe people would get a second or a third male if this happened a lot. I know I wouldn't.
Is humping be a habit or just a stage?
I think some dogs do this when they are younger and it happens less and less as they get older. For Gus it is kind of a habit, I know I could get him to stop if it
really bothered me. He mostly does it with his stuffed squirrel and if I took it away he would stop.
Male or female how can you go wrong? You'll still have the best dog in the world.
