suture removal after spay Morgan was spayed last thursday and the vet used non-desolvable stitches, which is no problem because i can take them out myself (i've done so on many many dogs and cats before in a hospital). The incision site on morgan looks really well. no redness, no scratches, no infection. The thing is she smells really really bad because she hasn't had a bath since last week. i want to bath her but i know i'm not suppose to do it with her stitches in. so then i thought well why not remove the stiches today? i was gonna do it on sunday, but she's gonna be out with me this weekend and i don't want her to stink everyone out tomorrow. i've tried to mask the smell and i've used waterless shampoo and baby wipes. they're just not helping.
so what do you guys think of taking stitches out on the 8th day after surgery? i'm so tempted to do it right now.
or have you given your dog a bath while the stitches were still in? what happened if anything?
