If you have the type of retractable leash, where it has a little bit of leash then a cord, please be careful. I found out this summer that if you are wearing shorts & you pup wraps it around your legs it can leave nasty rope burns. I have a scar on each leg because of it now (not that I didn't have a tons of scars anyway). I finally convinced my husband to buy the retractable leash that has a wide piece the whole length instead of the cord & it has illiminated the problem.
