If you use a flexi please be responsible. Always know where your pet is, don't use it in high-traffic areas (people, dog, or cars) and make sure they learn how far they can go.

I have about 5 leashes but I do training, and I don't train on my flexi. We train on a 4 or 6 foot flat leash. We walk on either a 4 ft flat leash or my hands free bunjee leash. We use the flexi to let Loki go potty outside because we do not have a fence (townhome) and he is trained to go right out to the grass and come back in. I don't think I would ever let him off leash so this is a great answer to not having a fence. He is completely housetrained and he is trained to sit to get his leash on and off.

I have had bad experiences with Loki where he was on a short leash walking by my side and someone's big golden retriever was on a flexi and charged him. Friendly dog, but Loki gets fearful when a big unfamiliar dog comes running at him and he is on-leash, so I didn't appreciate it. Plus, we were in a crowd and the man didn't even know where his dog was and I almost tripped on the flexi and it almost got Loki tangled up in the middle of the crosswalk. I can train my dog, but unfortunately I can't force people to train theirs...
