i hate to be the bearer of bad news.. but layla is almost 8 months... we still get up to go potty... she used to be twice a night... we'd get up... go out... if she didn't have to do her thing.. back in she went... i didn't talk to her at all... i didn't want to reward her for getting up. but i gave her the benfit of the doubt and out we went! for a while... we were sleeping right through the night.. but this past week... up at 2:30... might your little one be hungry??
as for the other lady with the crate problem.... i woudln't be giving him food and water and toys in there.... he needs to know that the crate is bed time... because otherwise how does it differ from him going in his crate during the day which may only last a few hours? he has to know this is for the long haul. someone suggested putting a blanket over the crate.. i do that for layla.. so she knows dark means sleep.
good luck.. hang in there... we've all been through it and can tell you that with time.. it gets better... they are just babies still!
