Wheezing and Coughing Hi, My Webster also sometimes wheezes and coughs at times, I took him to the vet. He diagnosed sinus and tonsilitis. The glands will be swolen on the sides of the neck if it is tonsolitis .He prescribed medication, something like sinolox, that helped quickly. I now knows what to do if it happens again, and it is in the middle of the night whenever his coughing a lot I give him a little bit of sinumax for babies, only about 1ml. That seems to help quickly and the discomfort dissapears after a few minutes. I know not everybody will not agree to human medication for dogs, but my vet assured me that if you don't overdo it they will be fine. It is also important to help them get fluids in, all the coughing causes a sore throat. I normally uses a syringe and give him water with that, this is just to make sure they get fluids in. Hope this will help.
