I let her run around in the kitchen for a few since she was behaving and she ended up with an apple peal in her mouth. Odd because Ive taken many many things out of her mouth including food and she would somewhat allow me to open her mouth and take it out.
So, of course i screamed as it hurted really bad and she did freak out for a second then i grabbed her told her no biting and yanked on the skin behind her neck until she let out a little squeal and then took her to her crate and left her there. She has been barking since. Ive been ignoring her totally and she hasnt stopped.
I think we definately need to get her to a class or something.
I reading up on the site that was recommended by the PP.
Thanks to everyone for their advice and suggestions

At my puppy class our teacher told us to do time out this way... Put a leash on your puppy, and put them on the other side of door in your house(I used a bathroom door) You shut the door and hold the leash so that the puppy has to sit in the other side of the door and can't go any where... You only do this for 30 seconds MAX!!! They can't remember why they are in time out after 30 seconds... Don't show anger..just an OH TOO BAD FOR YOU and matter of fact attitude works best! When time out is over they start with a clean slate every time... no anger or anything.
Chewy is a puppy too...6 months. The biting nipping has been a long road... At times when he was on a real roll I would do the time out thing. He would get the point after about the 5th time, and not bite for a long while.
Also As tempting as it may be I would NEVER use the crate as a punishment... It should be your babies bed, his little soft safe place he LIKES. I have tethered Chewy to me when I need to get things done, I gate off the hall upstirs to make it like a huge play pen where he can see me but can't get in my way as I clean my room, or the bathroom...Give him toys and water and food... Your baby wants to be with you... it's a little baby puppy. I know the biting gets old after a while and it really hurts but the cage is not the best place for it when you want to teach it lesson.
Hope some of this helps!
