That's a hard one, because we are all so cautious with our babies in varying degrees. I took the chance with Izzie and waited until she was 8 months old to have her spayed and baby teeth pulled. They ended up pulling 6, but I had thought they said 9. I was mistaken, I was so nervous about it all. I felt a little comfortable waiting because her mother didn't have her first heat until she was 17 months old. So I was hoping that Izzie might do the same. I didn't wait as long as I was wanting to, but I didn't want her to have a heat either and well, ya just never know for sure when that will happen.
