When we rescued Gage, he was 6 months old and not housebroken. It took me about a week to train him (maybe a little longer but I was suprised how quickly he caught on!) on pee pads and he's not "missed" since them (he'll be 2 in just over a week). I think that with a lot of patience and love, you can housetrain an older furbaby. If you have a chance, I say go for it! Keep us posted on what you decide.....and best of luck to you
