Those are good, thanks Patti! I never even thought about doing the fleece blankets!!! My daughter had taken a class (in our homeschool group) call Ugly Quilts, where the girls just stitched together scrap material and tacked them together; those were donated to our local homeless shelter, it was fun and a good project, but not for our other groups - we need something like your idea of fleece blankets that only take our meeting time to get done - the quilts took several days (we only had class twice a month).

I like the nursing home idea, too! I was trying to come up with something relating to animals too, but most shelters will only let younger kids (under 18) donate items, not volunteer their time (safety issues, where you have to sign a form).
