  You are definetely right about every pup being different. Even though the puppy eats/drinks and potty's on it's own though doesn't necessarily mean it's ready. Because a lot of times owners take their pups home and they either get sick on them then or they become difficult to train, etc. Everyone has a different experience but I was just curious. I've talked to a lot of reputable breeders that say the bond between the mom and puppy just strengthens and she teaches the pup a lot up to 12 weeks. I think if they are doing well 10-12 weeks would be good but 8 weeks seems so young. Congrats on the upcoming litter
