Once I get a feel of how the big dog is, then I make my decision. Rocky LOVES big dogs, so if the dog is gentle, then I don't see the problem with it. I do keep him closely supervised though, except with Gizmo. When he's with Gizmo I can step away for a minute. Yesterday he met my friends 2 labs and Rocky had the time of his life! THey were all playing fetch, and Rocky was the slowest runner so the younger lab would stop and wait for him to catch up! It was the cutest thing. And a couple days ago he met a dobermain, this doberman was really gentle too. It all depends on whose dog it is also. If I know and trust the owner, and he/she says the dog is gentle, then definitly. If I don't know the owner, but get vibes that the dog and owner are good, I'll hold Rocky for the bigger dog and let them sniff eachother. I've been around bigger dogs my whole life, and Rocky is my first small dog. I honestly have no fear of bigger dogs (unless they give me a reason)
