Pete does the same thing, when I mix his food he just ends up eating all the new and the old pebbles end up all over the kitchen floor! So in the end mixing may not be succesfull no matter what you try
Usually with Pete Ill just slowly mix in more food each day gradually for about a week and it seems to be fine, even though most of the old ends up on the ground
