I have aggesive chewers, too. I cut the tags off as soon as I saw her chewing them. Then about 15 minutes later she had the tail off. Bummer. But the rest is staying intact. The tail is sewn on separately so the stuffing didn't come out of the body of the thing. So, I guess just a watchful eye from now on...
