I would stick with ONE kibble. Puppies have sensitive stomachs and dry food is going to give him the most consistent diet. We found that Loki was more able to tolerate variations in his diet after he was about a year old. Now he gets some Merrick canned food, but it makes him gassy and his poop gets softer. The dry food is definately the best for his stomach. Just pick a good one, which you are.
Loki didn't like the wellness or innova. We ended up with Canidae. And he'd get sick every time I tried to switch him (VERY SLOWLY) even on the high quality foods. Only when we started the Canidae did he stop having diarrhea. You just have to carefully plug away until you find a good one. If he was doing well on the Merrick but "lost interest" you can try putting broth on it or just take it away after 20 mins if he doesn't eat it. Next time he will eat, I guarantee it! Good luck! |
