Question Motion sickness

As you may remember I got my baby boy Kahlua this past monday. Well, since then my hubby decided he didn't like the name...........so his new name is Bobbis (pronounced in Spanish).

Anyhow, everytime we attempt to go for a ride, he starts salivating at the mouth and throws up. I tried with him on my lap, on his pet car seat, by me feet, etc.

It happens about 10 minutes into the ride. I know he can't help it but I feel terrible that he gets nauseous. I am trying small car trips around the neighborhood and talking to him the entire time. Just now we drove a little farther to petsmart and he threw up again.

Have any of you experienced this before? If so, how did you overcome this. I know the vet can prescribe motion sickness pills but I'd like to exhaust every alternative. We are trying to overcome this due to us usually traveling for x-mas. The toy poodle and cat are pros at traveling and with plenty rest stops and pet-friendly hotels...........we always have a joyful time. Hope our baby yorkie could enjoy car rides too.

Any suggestions are welcomed
