Good for you! And you'll figure out his limits. I've had Eddie out for 30 minutes at 5 Fahrenheit, and he didn't seem to notice the cold. But I kept him moving, and he wore a coat and booties. But Eddie's a 9-pounder. Four-pound Jack starts shivering after 5 minutes or so, and he goes back in the coat until he warms up.
Beware, they will bluff you in the beginning. The second you take them outside, they'll shiver and refuse to walk in their booties. Just lure them with a treat a step at a time. Quit if the shivering doesn't stop, and always quit on a success (forward progress!)
