 Our trainer suggested we teach
them the get me game instead of the chase game. She means teach your dog to chase you (inside first). Make a big game of it so they enjoy it. Once they learn it you can use it outside if they ever get away from you. She also said that the chase game is their very favorite game and once you start it they will always want you to chase them. My chihuahua is a runner. I have found out the hard way that I can NEVER let her off leash.
You might want to set up some kind of barrier so she cannot get loose when the front door is opened. That is just way too scary!!! |
