My girlfriend's daughter is 11 and already worried about weight and beauty and continuously says "i'm fat" or "I'm not pretty" My 17 year old daughter tries to talk to her all the time about loving herself, etc., but it's so scary.
I'm so proud of my daughter who has always loved herself for who she is...when she's sitting quietly talking to the 11 year old about 'truly' loving herself, well, that's when I've been the proudest I've ever been as a mom.
Many girls growing up today don't know what it really means to love themselves...they equate how they look to their self esteem and it's so sad.
