Personally, I would not subject my beloved pet to the hormone treatment for the mere reason of me wanting offspring. I certaintly would not want to run the risk of it or other problems showing up later. Secondly, did you purchase him as pet quality or for breeding?

This is my humble opinion as well. If you want, I could give you the name and address of an excellent vet in Arecibo, Puerto Rico...........(what town are you in). I am sure he will explain to you better than me or anyone else as to why it is NOT a good idea to subject him to the hormonal treatment.
