I took GiGi to her new groomer this morning. She's been in training at Petsmart, so I took her there 1 time, mostly to have her little bootie shaved. She was not there very long, the lady called and said she would not let her come near her face, and would hardly let her brush her. I thought that was strange. Then after that I watched through the glass how they would yank on the fur (hair), walk away from the pups while on the table. Most of the dogs were just shaking (I assume from being scared to death!).
I was nervous about leaving her today, but I really did my research. I found a place that is usually at full occupancy on their boarding, and mostly full on the grooming schedule. They let you tour anything you want to see, unannounced. And, I got to leave GiGi's favorite toys with her. if anything happens, they prefer to take the pup to it's own vet...... only in a dire emergency would they take the pup to a vet other than the one that normally treats her. They also have doggie daycare there..... so I'm not so nervous now. I did tell them that she had not had a good groomer experience, and they promised to call me as soon as she is done...... unless she is having the time of her life..... then I'll pick her up at lunch! |
