It is a guess as a photo is not posted..but seeing the color of his parants and grandparents would have given you some insight. Some pups start to break color very early..even 8/12 weeks..those can go too light, but not all...I find the longer they take to break color, the longer the blue will last...like for a lifetime.
As to the knees..it will depends on the grade..but since the vet is not concerned right now I woudl not be either. Keep his weight normal.
