Animal Smiley 019 Thinking out loud again

I've noticed that recently we seem to be hurting each other's feelings when I am sure it is not intended.

Just wondered as a matter of curiousity:

How many of you have responded to a post without reading the entire thread and then realized that your post was totally inappropriate?

I know I have done that more than once & felt like an idiot.

I think that is what happens sometimes when an answer seems rather harsh or out of place.

I also think, speaking for myself, that sometimes we take the posts a little too seriously. We have to realize that 9 times out of 10 whoever is posting knows absolutely nothing about us & is certainly not trying to make others mad.

I feel the real benefit of YT is education but if we start out harsh or critical, people focus on the tone & completely miss the content of what might be very good information.

We all have our special interests (just in case you've never read one of my posts mine is Spaying/Neutering Your Pets). That doesn't mean that I think the breeders that have invested many years & dollars in breeding/showing their dogs shouldn't do so. Otherwise, how would we get our babies. I just think the facts are that most of our pets are not the ideal and breeding them is probably not advancing the breed.

And on another sensitive note, I think the mixes are so cute but the mixes are what lead to the loss of the purebreds. I would hate to see us lose the traits of our purebred Yorkies due to indiscriminate mixes. That certainly doesn't mean that I wouldn't rescue one, just means that when I am spending the big bucks I would rather give it to someone that has a purebred line.

That all being said, I don't know one person on here or their breeding/showing habits or abilities. I would love to know who breeds, who shows, who has champions, etc.

I have already figured out that Lacy's Mom has really good advice on health issues. Seems like there are several that are really talented with sewing, grooming, avatars, posting pics, etc. Just a wealth of information in general.

I would hate to see hurt feelings cause someone to lose the benefit of all the knowledge that the experienced breeders/showers have to give.
