I have BOTH male and female cats with my Yorkies and other dogs. It REALLY makes no diference at all. the important thing is to get a young kitten and be in charge at first. You will notice your dog will chase and go nuts but you need to tell it NO right from the beginning ... usually it doesn't take long at all to get them comfortable with eachother if you have a good tempered yorkie and a young kitten.
