Loki is a total nerd around dogs. He doesn't know how to act and he will randomly think another dog is going to eat him. We do doggie daycare once a week and he plays with the big dogs. He kinda throws a tantrum when I drop him off but the trainer says he's good after I leave. He has pretty much figured out they are not going to eat him. (He does way better off leash, in the right environment with the right dogs I just drop his leash and he does FINE. On leash he gets scared.) We also take training classes even though Loki is pretty well trained just so we can work on him focusing on me when other dogs are around. We also walk the neighborhood and practice "polite" greetings of other dogs. I would definately consult a positive reinforcement trainer because we have seen a HUGE improvement in Loki - we've just had to do a lot of work! |
