Hootie is 5 months old and has never really been a nervous yorkie. Yesterday, out of the blue, she just starts shaking like a leaf! At first I thought she was cold, so I picked her up and wrapped her up in a blanket. But she still shook! So, I just set her down in the blanket and she continued to shake on and off until we had company last night and she sat in a friend of mine's lap ALL NIGHT and didn't shake at all.
Then today, I left Hootie with my husband while I went to pick up lunch. My husband said that she sat by the door and shook the whole time I was gone! He said he tried to pick her up, but she didn't stop shaking until I came back home. But, I just left Hootie at home with my hubby again to come to work and I told him to call me if she started shaking but he hasn't called and it's been over 3 hours. So I assume she's alright. Anyway, she stays at home in her crate during the week while we're at work, so I don't see why me leaving her this morning would be any different.
So, why do you think she has been shaking? She also threw up on Friday night...that white foamy stuff, which they say they do when they are hungry. But, do you think one of these things has anything to do with the other? Do you think Hootie was just cold? Was she having separation anxiety? She didn't get her nap in yesterday, so could she have been shaking from being too tired??
Like many of you, I am just a paranoid mom and I am just wondering if this throwing up and/or shaking is serious enough to take her to the vet?
