I was told that Lepto is a disease they can get from Rodent poop... I was also told it is a treatable disease. My vet said if you had a hunting dog that was out in the woods where you might come in contact with chipmunks, mice, what ever... you would maybe want the shot. But with a Yorkie that is really never running around in the wilderness you don't really need it. He had a healthy dog die from the shot and now he won't give it unless there is good cause. He won't even keep it in his office. So I would see what your vet says about it before giving it.
My puppy got the Lyme shot with out the lepto... Hope this helps.
