I saw that someone else on here was thinking about getting a sewing machine...and I have been thinking about buying one too. I can only sew straight lines....or that is all I have done in the past, anyway. (Made curtains)

Well, I have gone to Craig's list and they have tons that aren't too expensive, but my question is...I saw someone recommended getting the old fashioned treadle kind...why that kind? And then I have seen some Kenmore ones and Sears ones...and a couple other brands, is there anything in particular I should look for? Thanks for any advice.
