Well first you have to define back yard breeders.
Are those the occasional hobby breeders? Or some where between a show breeder and a puppy mill?
I believe most small breeders could be considered back yard breeders.
My idea of a byb is one that does not breed for show and does not make their sole living off of breeding and selling dogs. And in my opinion there is nothing wrong with that. but maybe your definition is different.
Actually Ollie came from what some might refer to as a puppy mill. Well I guess I would refer to iti as a puppy mill, but thered are

Chachi came from a large breeder in CA, she used to show, but I don't believe she does any more.
