you might want to try a cat brush for a while. it is more like a massage to them. then use the other brush or comb. You might think about using the CC gold series brush too. It doesn't hurt them at all. there is a lot of threads on that brush on here if you do a search. mine love being brushed. I can't just brush one because when I start they all are on my lap wanting it.
