I had both my yorkies' retained baby teeth removed when they were spayed. However, I think it matters whether or not the retained teeth are causing problems. In my first yorkie's mouth they were actually causing holes in the soft tissue in the roof of her mouth. In my second girl's I had them removed because plaque was building between the new tooth and the retained one. However, the breeder I got my second one from said she generally does not remove them as it does not generally interfere with their bite and eventually they will fall out. So, it really is a judgement call, unless there are obvious negative effects from them.
