What an awful tragedy! I am so sorry for your loss. It's bad enough that groomers often hurt our babies, but a vet? They should know what they are doing and know the law requires a signature for any medications and this should be discussed with the owner first. Something is very, very wrong here. Please do a complete investigation and use whatever resources are at your disposal. This is a vet, for God's sake - his job is to know when something is wrong and to be able to save a life, not destroy it. I feel terrible for you, dragging this out is going to make your heartache that much worse. But you need to put your mind at ease by finding out what really happened before you can start healing.
