It's a realitively low cost thing to get while at the vets.... so I would spend the few extra bucks for safety. If your dog should get Lyme Disease you will be kicking yourself after the fact for not spending the couple extra bucks.
Don't be fooled by the AREA thing.... any dog can get it most anyplace! YES chances are higher and lower in some areas but there is always a chance.
