I would think a lot hinges on how far along the mother is as to what kind of birth defects they may have. Just do what you think you need to do. Fortunately this time of the year fleas aren't too terribly bad. Again that depends on where you live. Of course JMO. Do what you feel you need to do.

How bad are the fleas? If they aren't real bad I would just bathe her good as needed like was said with Dawn. I have had to bathe lab puppies before with dawn when they were just 4 or 5 weeks old they were infested with fleas.
