Christina, That's really great of your parents. My parents were the same way with my car -- they said they'd buy me a cheap car to get to work, but i'd have to give them half my paycheck until they got their money back in full. It sounds like your parents are in it with you and its also kinda nice that they're teaching you responsibility and finance (believe me, though it sucks, it pays off in the long run)

Someone who would really want their young child to have a dog would be out there researching the best breeders and putting a bit of money aside for the dog, or taking one from a rescue if they were short on money (or , of course, if they wanted to do a good deed and weren't interested in pure breds).
