I really can't understand these kill shelters. I am a strong advocate of no kill shelters and fostering. There is no reason why kill shelters should exist. The only reason a dog should be euthanized is because of health problems or serious behavior problems. I am sorry, it just makes me angry that these shelters exist. There will always always be dogs that need new homes but there doesn't ever have to be any kill shelters. JMO
Your opinion is one that I would agree with...in a perfect world. Fact is, there simply aren't enough homes to provide for these dogs. I wish (like you) that there wasn't a need for these facilities and that more people would take these animal in and adopt them. These adopted animals would be spayed/neutered...but what about all the homes that are producing these animals by the multitudes? What about the stray animals on the street (mostly cats) that are producing wild? Have you ever tried to tame a feral cat? It is darn near impossible.

So yes, I agree with you by heart but not by the reality of the situation. JMO
