Default Potty trained in kitchen only, how do we start witht the house now?

We seem to be 100% pee pad traied, and outside trained if she's in the kitchen or in her crate at night.

I have carpet in most of my home. I tried letting her "roam" the living room, and she squatted and peed right in front of me!!! The kitchen, where her potty pads are, is soooo close to my living room!

Do I put pee pads in the rooms she'll be in? Or leave it to the 2 I have in the kitchen?

Now this morning at 4am, she woke me to go out. I opened the crate, and insead of running to the back door, she run to the front of the house, to the kitchen, and peed on her pee pad! I was hoping this was a good sign.

Also I need to know, is there anything that will neutralize the pee smell in the carpet that I might have on hand, so she won't go back to that same spot? Or should I put a pee pad on it?

My house is not real big if this helps at all.

Any and all suggestions are welcome!
