I personally have never seen a yorkie (even a full grown dog) run up to a child under the age of 7. These guys are pretty smart and their instincts tell them that kids are dangerous. Just being stepped on can cripple them. They'll take on the rottie down the street, but they dare not defend themselves against little humans. So breeders are their first line of defense.
