I was just wondering what are the differences between the various dog registries (AKC, APRI etc.) CAsh came with papers and is registered with APRI. Can I get him registered with AKC? I was just wondering if there is such a thing as one registry being better than another. I know that some of the posts here onthe forum has suggested that the AKC will sometimes register mix breeds as pure breeds. and it seems that most of the time when members of this forum speak of papers, they're talking about AKC. I guess it doesn't really matter in my case as I do not plan on breeding Cash (in fact, i know nothing about breeding) but i guess any answer will serve to satisfy my curiosity.
oh, and also, when i bought cash, he already had a microchip. is there some kind of procedure i need to take to transfer the registered microchip number from the breeder's info to mine?
