I had a Yorkie when my dtr was born 21 years ago and she was supervised and taught how to handle small dogs. I got Gracie when she was 6 and took her with to the Breeder who saw how gentle and calm my dtr was and had no problem selling her to me. All of my Yorkies have tolerated small children but never really liked them. Cali who has been around the neighbor kids since I got her is scared of them and really doesn't want anything to do with them. It really depends on your children if a Yorkie is suitable. There is always a risk with small dogs even with adults accidents are so much more damaging to these small babies. |
