Oh no no, it wasn't that I didn't want to get her because it would be a wasted day or anything, more like why drive so far away when there is a baby right here who needs me... And I wish I could get both, but though I could BUY them both, I want to be sure that I can provide everything else (food, vet care, time). I just don't think I can have two right now
I also don't think it's a good idea to go from having no dogs to having two dogs... esp if the 4 1/2 yo needs to be nuetered, vetted, or anything else.
