I have only one so I am only surmising but I also am retired and have spent lots of time with my Little Bit and she is pretty jealous as well. I am afraid that two would be more noisy and harder to travel with. My daughter also has a Yorkie and I feel like just having another to play with occasionally is better than having to share your home & attention with a newcomer. I'm sure I am guilty inserting how I would feel into her mind and definitely have no facts to back up my opinion.
