Since some people seem to feel the need to forward every email they receive to me, I make it a practice not to forward anything at all unless I am certain the one person I send it to really wants to see it. And actually then I don't forward it then, I copy the part I find relevant and enclose it in an email that establishes why I am sending it and expressing my hope that I am not imposing on their time or computer space. I literally hate getting things just forwarded to me especially if the person did not take the time to include a personal message along with it. I try not to offend others with my opinion and generally just delete any forwarded emails without reading. If I don't hear anything else from this person, it doesn't matter that I didn't read the email, and if someone does ask me about it, I just ask them if they would mind just telling me what it says, that I don't really have the time or energy to sort through all the forwarded messages. I try not to be offensive and tell them if there is something I really need to know, could they please just call me or at least put something in the subject line that will tell me I really need to read this. I have to admit that I am a little older than most of you, probably than most of the world, so hopefully my friends will cut me a little slack and just call me eccentric rather than rude.
