She probably just hates it because the tangles hurt. Use a good moisturizing conditioner AND a good detangler. I used to use Infusium leave-in conditioner after Tatum's bath PLUS a detangler spray. Almost NO tangles that way. Lately though I've been using Pet Silk and after the shampoo, conditioner and spray, I don't need the Infusium at all.
I remember one time I had to use a ringworm shampoo on Tatum and the vet tech said no conditioner after it. Well, let me tell you, I only did that once and even then I ended up sticking her back in the sink and using conditioner. There is absolutely NO WAY you can comb out a long-haired dog without a good conditioner. My comb slides like butter through Tatum's hair but it's all due to the conditioners!
