I was just wondering how old is Dexter? If he's not a puppy and he's gone through the "cycle" with a female before, he just is running on automatic for now. Hopefully in time he'll forget what it was like to be a boy and just ignore her the next time. August wasn't that long ago for him to have all his hormones in check, so it may be just a case of leftover feelings...
